Africa Is Not A Country

The title of this blog was borrowed from the children's book of the same name by Margy Burns Knight (an author from Maine!) Just as Knight shows the diversity of the continent with pictures of daily life in each of the 53 countries, I hope to provide a clearer picture of Africa from my experiences there. Starting at the end of April, my plan is to do a mix of traveling and independent volunteer work there through the end of the year, taking in at least ten countries throughout southern and eastern Africa. I should note that my posts will probably be sporadic at best, so your patience is greatly appreciated. Wish me luck!
